Understanding PCR and Primer Design

This one-day mix of practicals and lectures will introduce the principles and applications of PCR to routine diagnostics and research and address the design of primers. This course is suitable for those interested in end point (present or absent) analysis i.e. qualitative PCR. You need have no prior experience as the topic will be taught from 1st principles. About 50% of the day will be spent doing individual experiments. Background knowledge in basic DNA structure is required. Cost £200. Includes lunch at a local restaurant and refreshments throughout the day.
